This is about as simple as a build gets while still looking intentional — a good first project once you’ve outgrown your dirt shelter.
Step 1: Lay the floor
Mark out a 5x5 square and lay planks across the whole base. This gives you a clean floor and a clear footprint for the walls.
Step 2: Build the walls
Go up 4 blocks on all four sides, leaving a 1-wide, 2-tall gap on one side for the door. Add glass panes on two of the walls for windows.
Step 3: Add the roof
The simplest option is a flat roof, one block up from the top of the walls. If you want something more advanced, stairs sloped inward from each side make a basic pitched roof.
Step 4: Light it and finish
Place torches inside so nothing spawns indoors, hang the door, and you’re done. Total build time: under ten minutes once you’ve got the materials.
